You may have heard that dental sealants are great for the health of your teeth, and that they could even stop cavities from forming–but what else have you heard about this important treatment? For example, do you know if you’re a good candidate for sealants or why sealants benefit you?
As you may know, sealants are useful because they keep food and bacteria out of hard-to-clean areas of your teeth. Typically, sealants are placed in your back molars because they can be hard to reach. If you have sealants placed, you may prevent cavities and could help your teeth stay stronger for years to come.
But how do you know if sealants are right for you? Typically, children–specifically children between six and twelve years old–are the best candidates. However, anyone with healthy teeth can also be a good candidate. In addition, if your teeth are weak, our team may recommend sealants in an effort to save your teeth.
Do you have more questions about the benefits of dental sealants? Do you wonder if you’re a good candidate for this important treatment? Please remember that while sealants can stop plaque and bacteria from reaching certain areas of your mouth, you’ll still need to brush frequently.
